Celebrating 50 Years - Presentation to Ye Olde Cider Bar

Bob presents the award to Julian On Saturday 11th September 2021 a presentation was made to Ye Olde Cider Bar in Newton Abbot one of 32 pubs across the country who have won Golden Awards in the ‘Pubs’ category for businesses that have made a significant contribution to CAMRA’s aims in the last 50 years.

The presentation was made, by Chairman Bob, to Julian Marsh, owner of Ye Olde Cider House, in front of a gathering of CAMRA members and pub regulars. During his speech Bob reminisced about his early childhood memories of the pub, thinking he would be only one to have been there, only to find one of the regulars had got there before him!

Bob congratulated Julian on the continuing quality and variety of ciders on offer.

Many of the regulars present were members of the Long Bar Cork Club in existence for over a hundred years, meeting on a Sunday, members 'dob each other in' for various and nefarious misdemeanours committed throughout the week, and get fined.

The presentation concluded with most of the CAMRA members and pub regulars enjoying time to sample the ciders on offer.
