You may remember back in 2021, on the night of 26/27 September, a major fire devastated the pub and four adjoining cottages. Now in August 2022 I am pleased to report that rebuilding the Grade II listed pub and the cottages next door has started. It will reopen, but, at present, there isn't a date.
In the meantime the licensees are holding occasional outdoor events in a newly refurbished garden across the road with splendid views across the village. The cream teas are excellent! See their Facebook page.
