The real ale is available in the Compass Cafe Bar (which is open to non-residents & is off the main entrance lobby). The hotel appears to date from around the 1880s, it has indoor & outdoor pools and an "Agatha Christie Mile" plaque on the wall outside - apparently she spent her honeymoon night at the Grand Hotel.
