Pub Liaison Officer

Wanted - CAMRA Pub Liaison Officers

September 2025 - The recent arrangements for the distribution of the 2026 GBG Licensee’s Pack has highlighted the fact that we do not really have a comprehensive list of Pub Liaison Officers (PLOs) and therefore may be missing opportunities to promote CAMRA activities.

A CAMRA Pub Liaison Officer is a CAMRA volunteer responsible for maintaining relationships with pubs in their local branch area, often working to support them and acting as a point of contact for queries related to CAMRA's activities, such as the Good Beer Guide or WhatPub database.

Responsibilities may include:

Supporting pubs:
Liaising with publicans to offer support for their business, eg offering coverage of pub events on the South Devon CAMRA Facebook pages etc.
Maintaining pub data:
Ensuring the accuracy of pub information on the CAMRA website, including the Good Beer Guide and the WhatPub database, eg updating opening times.
Promoting CAMRA:
Representing the branch at local pubs and promoting CAMRA's work to the public, eg re-stocking News & Brews magazines and other CAMRA leaflets
Handling queries:
Acting as a point of contact for pubs to address any issues or questions they or their customers may have regarding CAMRA.

An effective PLO may serve a number of different venues which is preferred to just one for the reasons shown above.

If you are a CAMRA member and would like to become a PLO helping to keep our pub details up to date, please contact our Pub Data coordinator, Alan Cooke, on 07767 362502 or by email
