St Marychurch & Babbacombe Social

The Dolphin On a cold, but very clear, day about 20 members gathered at the Dolphin in St. Marychurch where Jail Ale, Otter Head and Otter Bitter were all available. Everyone got settled in round the fire, it proved difficult to get them to move on to the next pub, the Crown & Sceptre. There were three beers here, Abbot Ale, Jail Ale and Butcombe Gold.
We now walked back past the Dolphin to Molloy's where there were four beers to choose from, Proper Job, Topsail, Devon Dumpling and Utopian Blonde.
Plenty of choice so far, now it was on to Babbacombe and the Babbacombe Royal Hotel where the choices were Tribute or Stan's Trad Cider on handpump.
The Buccaneer Inn was yet to open, so it was on to the Babbacombe Inn where Legend and Devon Dumpling were the choices.
The Divers was also yet to open, so it was on to the nearby bus stop and a 22 to Kent's. This was a warm busy pub with five handpumps occupied by London Pride, Otter Ale and three from Salcombe, Lifesaver, Seahorse and Gold.
This is where the party started to split up with various choices in Torquay. Personally, due to bus times, I had to set off homeward with a stop at the Upside Bar in Paignton and the Cherub in Dartmouth before the last bus home.
