Teignmouth Social

On Wednesday 20th May we met up at the Jolie Brise, a Wetherspoon's outlet. It was very busy to the extent that there was barely a seat to be found! There was the usual selection of regular beers plus Caingorm Wildcat, Salcombe Shingle Bay and Maxim's Maximus, all at £2.35 a pint.
From here we moved to the Crafty Badger, a new bar to many of us, offering Seahorse and Devon Amber both from Salcombe.
The group seemed restless so we moved on to the King's Arms, , offering Jail Ale and Doom Bar. This pub has some unusual etched table tops.
Next was just across the road, Dicey Reilly's, a free house offering Jail Ale and Merrival Pale, both from Dartmoor. We took the opportunity to have a group photo taken here.
Our next stop was a bit further walk, Teignmouth Social Club, close to the sea. It is a members club, so we were invited to sign in to sample Teignworthy Reel Ale, Greene King Old Speckled Hen and Doom Bar. After the Jolie Brise, his was the busiest outlet so far.
Ever onward, it was the Devon Arms Hotel next, again a bit of a walk. Here we had the choice of Wadworth 6X or Wadworth 6X, not a beer we see very often around here.
Next door is the The Olde Jolly Sailor where we had the choice of London Pride, Salcombe Gold, Jail Ale or Doom Bar. We lingered a little longer here with four beers to choose from.
Time was marching on, so we had cut one or two pubs from our list and go to the New Quay Inn, with outside seating overlooking the River Teign. There were again four beers to choose from: Jail Ale, Otter Ale, 6X and Sharp's Atlantic.

Some members now had to depart for trains or buses while the majority of the rest headed for the The Blue Anchor, an ideal end to an enjoyable day.
