Festival Staff

Whether you’re a new member or been with us a while – you’ll always find a friendly face (and a beer lover!) when you volunteer with CAMRA.
Many of you, when you read this, will already have volunteered to be part of the Sunshine Beer & Cider Festival in the past and so will already know the benefits volunteering can bring. If you are new to our branch or have never volunteered previously, now is your chance! There are numerous opportunities available for volunteers at our festival, not everyone has to serve beer. It takes over 50 volunteers to run a successful festival, some will just volunteer for 2 or 3 shifts, others will be there for the whole 3 days, it's your choice.
Why not give it a go? Training can be given for any task and you will have an enjoyable time among like-minded people.
Volunteers receive vouchers for beer or cider and food (subject to working at least two shifts on a day). There is also a 'Thank You' trip later in the year.

A Staffing Form can be downloaded here in either Word or PDF format. Completed forms should be returned to the festival Staffing Officer, details are on the forms.

Please be aware parking for visitors' cars is limited, please use public transport where possible, this will also mean that ALL your party can enjoy the beers and ciders!
The venue, Teignmouth RFC, is 0.6 mile from Teignmouth Railway Station and will take you around 15-20 minutes to walk it. There will also be a free shuttle bus service on Friday & Saturday.
There are at least two trains per hour to/from Newton Abbot (for Paignton, Plymouth and Cornwall) and Exeter (for Exmouth and the rest of the world!).

In the event of a rail strike

Please be aware GWR will be running a partial service covering Plymouth, Paignton, Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Exeter on the strike days. The times can be found in the usual way using the GWR website here

Our event will go ahead as planned, we will not be de-railed by the RMT!
If there are no trains the Shuttle Bus to/from the railway station will not run.

Bus Services

We are fortunate that we have two excellent bus services that stop outside the venue
(Bus Stop is Bitton Park)
Half hourly Stagecoach bus - Number 2 Starts from Sherborne Road, Newton Abbot and travels via Kingsteignton and Bishopsteignton to Teignmouth It continues via Dawlish, Starcross and Exminster to Exeter City Centre. It returns using the same route in reverse.
Number 2 timetable can be found here

An alternative from Exeter

Stagecoach Number 7 provides an hourly service from Exeter Bus Station to Newton Abbot Bus Station taking about 1 hour, then take the number 2 to Teignmouth RFC taking about 20 minutes.
Number 7 timetable can be found here

Leave the number 7 at Sandygate Brook Way after about 40 minutes and catch the number 2 there to Teignmouth.
Please note: There are toilets available at both changes
. Brook Way is adjacent to the Ten Tors Inn.

Frequent service Stagecoach bus - Number 22 This runs from Paignton via Torquay and Shaldon to Teignmouth. It then continues to Dawlish Warren. It also runs the route in reverse.
Number 22 timetable can be found here

Don't forget, if you are lucky enough not to be old enough for a Senior Bus Pass, bus fares are still just £2.00 per journey!
Don't let the RMT spoil your weekend!
