The Sunshine Beer and Cider Festival is organised by the South Devon Branch of CAMRA. It is run entirely by volunteers with the aim of introducing you to some good beers and cider. Held at Teignmouth Rugby Football Club, the Festival will have 60 real ales and over 20 ciders. Our aim is to support brewers and cider makers across the Country and to give our visitors an enjoyable environment to sample the best of real ale and cider

Volunteer to be Part of the Festival

Whether you’re a new member or been with us a while – you’ll always find a friendly face (and a beer lover!) when you volunteer with CAMRA.
Many of you, when you read this, will already have volunteered to be part of the Sunshine Beer & Cider Festival in the past and so will already know the benefits volunteering can bring. If you are new to our branch or have never volunteered previously, now is your chance! There are numerous opportunities available for volunteers at our festival, not everyone has to serve beer. It takes over 50 volunteers to run a successful festival, some will just volunteer for 2 or 3 shifts, others will be there for the whole 3 days, it's your choice..
Why not give it a go? Training can be given for any task and you will have an enjoyable time among like-minded people. Volunteers receive vouchers for beer or cider and food (subject to working at least two shifts on a day). There is also a 'Thank You' trip later in the year..

A helpers’ 'Thank-You' trip is being arranged for 27th September. As an incentive, volunteers who work at least seven hours, including one evening session plus one day session or a set-up day, will get a free trip to Salcombe Brewery including a buffet meal at The Durant Arms, Ashprington, our Pub of the Year, on the way back. Drinks are not included. Spaces will be subject to availability.

Overnight camping

Overnight camping pitches for tents, caravans and motor-homes are available at £14 per night, bookable in advance.
Overnight pitches are free to members who volunteer to work at the festival

Please be aware parking for visitors' cars is limited, please use public transport where possible, this will also mean that ALL your party can enjoy the beers and ciders!
The venue, Teignmouth RFC, is 0.6 mile from Teignmouth Railway Station and will take you around 15-20 minutes to walk it. There will also be a free shuttle bus service on Friday & Saturday.
There are at least two trains per hour to/from Newton Abbot (for Paignton, Plymouth and Cornwall) and Exeter (for Exmouth and the rest of the world!).
Two frequent Stagecoach bus services stop outside the venue (Bus Stop is Bitton Park) - Number 2, Newton Abbot to Exeter & 22, Paignton to Dawlish Warren

Sponsorship

Every year, at the Sunshine Beer & Cider Festival, businesses and individuals are given the opportunity to become involved by sponsoring a cask of ale or a box of cider.

There are four options:
Option 1 – Price £100 per cask (or one cask of beer) You can have your name or that of your pub, club or business (+logo) prominently displayed, throughout the 3 day festival, on one of the A4 cask end labels (see below). This message can be used as advertising or whatever else, within reason! We expect at least 1000 visitors through the gates. Includes two free tickets for Thursday’s session.

Option 2- £180 2x casks (or two casks of beer) As above

Option 3 -Cider Sponsor £50 As above on a Cider Box.

Option 4- Programme Advert £35 have a quarter page advert in the Festival Programme.
